Organizing with the City in Mind

April 28 and 29, 10am-2pm at the HUUB, 35 Cleveland Street, Orange

In this free 8-hour training participants will learn the fundamentals of place-based community organizing:

  • Recognizing the existing strengths within your community
  • Changing the narrative about your local history so it reflects everybody’s stories
  • Identifying shared challenges and resources
  • Building an effective team
  • Growing your network
  • Designing effective campaigns

This interactive workshop will feature a variety of activities including neighborhoods walks, group work and opportunities for individual reflection. We will explore the legacy of US urban planning policies and learn strategies for building successful organizing teams. Please be available to commit to the full 8 hours of this training.
